Food for Fines
Saturday, July 10th through Saturday, July 24th

Have overdue fines?  Take advantage of this opportunity to pay off up to $25 in overdue fines with food and help the hungry in our community. Bring in canned or dry good food items and $1 in overdue fines will be forgiven for each item donated.  Food will only be accepted for overdue fines.  Food will not be accepted as payment for lost or damaged items.  A maximum of $25 per library card will be forgiven.

The following food items are most needed by the Alameda County Food Bank: Canned fruit & vegetables, canned meats & fish, peanut butter, pasta, beans, rice, canned soup (low-salt), low-sugar cereal & oatmeal, tomato sauce, and powdered milk.  Items packaged in glass will not be accepted.

All food will be donated to the Alameda County Food Bank.  For more information contact the Main Library at 510-293-8685 or Weekes Branch at 510-782-2155.
